Miles: 26.2
Weather: 55 degrees, cloudy
This was the last recovery run before “departure,” the final sentence of a chapter in my life that will never be forgotten. The photo’s and video documentary will serve as a reminder of this incredible journey, but nothing will ever replace the firsthand experience of the people we have met, and the places we have been.
Tomorrow is a new beginning, though I will always remember with crystal clarity the past fifty days.
Long live the Endurance 50.
Warmest regards,
Dean

Hi Dean:
It's an amazing thing you have done - we participated in the Stowe Vermont run and you inspired my niece Sarah to begin to run. Thank you.
We posted a YouTube video on the VT run, if you have time, check it out. It's no Journey Film but it captured the day for us :-). http://motheroftheyear.blogspot.com/2006/10/50-in-50-in-50.html
Oh, and can you tell Topher that "His Favorite Person in the World" says hi.
Laugh and Grow Strong,
Betsy Reilly Hansen
PS I would rather you did not post this comment.

Awesome job Dean. My brother, who has been running for at least 25 years and done 14 marathons, just watched one of the videos. He emailed me. He's inspired to do something, "wild and crazy!" We're putting our heads together :) Thank you!! By the way, Anchorage named Oct 2 as 'your day'. I'm thinking we need to do something October 2, 2007 to celebrate active kids and people. :)

Dean,
Congrats!...never a doubt! All your fans are going to miss logging in every night and reading your days stories. Which means only one thing...get going on that next book! I have enjoyed these last 50 days especially #37. I hope our paths cross again on a run somewhere. Good work on inspiring the kids! Lets all keep it goin'!
Regards,
John G.

Congratulations, Dean on completing an adventure of a life time! I've followed your daily runs on your blog and on trainright.com and have been inspired along the way. I thought about you and what you were doing when I ran my Columbus marathon back in October and pushed myself to qualify for Boston 2007! You inspired many, thank you. Lou
